For our residents in need of rehabilitation from surgery, stroke, motor vehicle accident or other injury Discovery Care Centre maintains professional Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy services. Our dedicated 650-square foot Therapy Center contains weights and equipment for use by residents under the guidance of formal therapists.
Depending on needs, therapists will develop plans of therapy for strengthening, walking, basic self-care, endurance, balance, speaking and swallowing or other objectives as ordered by the attending physician. In some cases, Discovery Care Centre can even bill Medicare directly for such services.
In addition to formal therapies, Discovery Care Centre operates programs of Restorative Nursing Therapy or Nursing Maintenance. These programs can slow the decline of normal functions that occurs with age, and can maintain or restore flexibility, strength and safe walking as part of Skilled Nursing services.
Our goal is to help each resident, regardless of health condition, to reach and preserve their highest level of independence.
